MCC is dedicated to ecumenical and inter-religious work  at the denominational level to build partnerships and awareness of MCC’s presence within other religious and faith traditions. MCC Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Strategic Team aides in guiding MCC’s ecumenical and inter-religious dialogues with a global focus.  Appointed by Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson, Moderator of MCC, this team serves as a guide and reference for MCC’s historical ecumenical and inter-religious work.

The MCC Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Strategic Team works to nuture established denominational ecumenical and inter-religious partnerships and form new partnerships.  The team also recognizes and nurtures local-church affiliations as invited.

The team is dedicated to and has accomplished:

• completing our statement of our theology and philosophy for ecumenical/inter-religious work;
• aligning our mission and plans with MCC’s strategic plans;
• made plans for conduct a survey of MCC’s ecumenical/inter-religious involvement, which will be coming to you very soon;
• worked on ways to link with other related MCC ministries;
• committing to research how other denominations organize and budget their work so we can begin thinking about longer term goals;
• making plans to create a handbook and training materials for laity and clergy;
• setting some short term goals for shoring up and improving our present ecumenical/inter-religious involvements;
• making plans for a Ecumenical/Inter-religious webpage on the MCC website.
