Job Duties, Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Requirements

Job SummaryProvides (1) oversight of implementation of the Global Emerging Church Strategy; (2) supervision of the Emerging Church Coordinators for Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States; (3) direct support to Emerging Church Developers in Canada and Australasia/New Zealand; and (4) implementation of the Emerging Church Strategy for the United States & Canada.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide training for emerging church leaders
  2. Assist with recruitment and authorization of emerging church leaders.
  3. Develop resources and materials that are needed for the development of successful emerging churches.
  4. Provide coaching for emerging church leaders.
  5. Manage the bestowal of awards and recognitions.
  6. Oversee marketing of and fund-raising for Global Ministry Development
Marginal Duties
  1. Promote accountability to MCC by emerging churches and emerging church leaders.
  2. Publish a regular newsletter.
  3. Provide content for the MCC website.
  4. Maintain a directory of emerging church leaders.
  5. Undertake other duties as assigned.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervise volunteer Emerging Church Coordinators.

Qualifications – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or ExperienceSuccessful leadership experience in a volunteer-based non-profit setting; successful experience working in a church setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language, Mathematical, and/or Reasoning AbilityAbility to produce, read, and comprehend documents, reports, and correspondence written in English.

Ability to read and comprehend documents, reports, and correspondence written in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish is highly desirable.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of constituents and employees of MCC.

Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.

Ability to use Microsoft Office and the internet.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to communicate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
