REGISTER TODAY!

We are excited about the large number of registrants already for the 2017 People of African Descent, Friends and Advocates (PAD) Conference in August! We want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to get the reduced rate. So, the Early-Bird registration rate has been extended until 28 April! Spread the word!

We are also delighted that the Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis is the host congregation for the 2017 PAD Conference. Here’s a warm message of welcome from Wes Mullins, pastor of the always gracious MCCGSL:

Orgena Rose, our Music Director, brings her inspirational artistry and gifted musicality to this year’s PAD Conference, and she has something to share. Listen as she shares an encouraging word of testimony on why the PAD Conference is important to her and what it can do for all that come.

The 2017 MCC Conference for People of African Descent, Friends, and Advocates (PAD Conference) will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, from 3 through 5 August 2017. Our theme “Grounded in Love” reminds us that when we are deeply rooted in love for God, for ourselves and for one another – change can truly happen!  Grounded in Love is our theme and our guiding principle. When we all get together the rousing music and stirring worship will lift our hearts, the provocative programming will inspire us, and the love-rooted fellowship will help us to see how much stronger we are together. Our time together at PAD will lead and inspire us all to live out loud our commitment to be a truly inclusive people.

Remember that the PAD Conference is for everyone. It reaches beyond the boundaries of race, gender, sexual orientation, class, and culture in the hope of reaching all those who have “a genuine desire to know and understand just want it means to be black” in MCC and beyond. (from Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America, by Michael Eric Dyson)

Everyone who attends will have opportunity to learn/unlearn, to be equipped to respectfully engage in ministry within a racially-diverse, mutually-respectful community of faith; and will be empowered to do so in ways that honor the gifts, skills, experiences, and lives of people of African descent.

MCC clergy who attend will also earn 9 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

We are looking forward to seeing you in St. Louis! And bring someone with you!
